My Lunch Tree

Some of the Tree Year contributors wrote, that taking the opportunity to observe a tree and participate on the project, will help them to do a daily or weekly walk.

So I decided on having a “lunch tree” – one I visit after lunch, doing some walking, being out in the air and taking some photos. Here is my lunch tree, a huge European Beech (Fagus Sylvatica – Rotbuche)

It's hard to take a photo of the whole tree - even worse on a gray day

Great tree. And in the last shot, I see the tree looking back at you! (big eye on tree lower left)

I love the idea of “topic” or “character” or “theme” trees…..my regular Tree Year tree is too close to my house to get its full essence…..so I’ve had my eye on some other mystical, mythic trees that might be submitted!

Great photos – my tree is the “lunch tree” for about 100 little birds. I can hardly wait until the catkins begin to develop – I’ll have lots of photos for the rest of the year – right now it’s waiting.
